Belted Galloway


Also Known As ‘Belties’
Belties are an easily recognisable breed originating from the rolling hills of Dumfries and Galloway in South West Scotland. The Belted Galloway is a long haired beast with a soft undercoat suited to the cold, wet climate of their native lands.

Mature cows weigh in at 525 - 625kgs   
Mature bulls weigh in at 775 – 900kgs  

The Belted Galloway Cattle Society was formed in 1921.

Colour:Black with a brownish tinge, dun or red with a white belt totally encircling the middle of the body.
