North Devon


Also Known As: Red Rubies.
Francis Quartly of Great Champson was a keen developer and promoter of the North Devon during the 19th century. The North Devon is similar in appearance to the Sussex breed but has a brighter red coat with orange or yellow skin. The North Devon has long since been used as ranching breed of North and South America, Australia and South Africa. The skin and coat colour offering some protection from the sun.

The Devon Cattle Breeders Society was formed in 1884
