Whitebred Shorthorn

Also known as White Shorthorn
Late in the 19th Century the Whitebred was originally known as the Cumberland white. The Whitebred is a completely different breed to the dairy Shorthorn and beef Shorthorn. The Whitebred is valuable for crossing to create Blue Grey breeding stock. Blue Greys can be created by crossing a Whitebred bull to a black Galloway cow.

The Whitebred Shorthorn Society was formed in 1962.
