Welsh Mountain Pony, Section A

The Welsh Mountain Pony is an ancient breed and the foundation stock for all other sections. The ponies may have existed since the earliest introductions of equines into Great Britain. The Welsh Mountain Pony has been used as foundation stock for Polo and riding ponies, hacks, hunters and chasers.

The hocks are clean but there should be copious amounts of mane hair.

Action: Quick, free and straight.

Colour:Any colour except piebald and skewbald both of which could suggest impurity.
Height at maturity:120cms ( 12hh )
