Origin:Western Isles of Scotland
Class:Horned, primitive, short tailed, hill and mountain sheep
Colour:Black fleece, face and legs.
Parentage:Likely to be descended from sheep imported by the Vikings. The Hebridean is an ancient breed that has evolved through natural selection although the recessive black colour has been selected by man.
