Having a keen interest in British rare breeds is one step. Take the next step and learn more by becoming a member of the Britannic Club. The Britannic club is keen to promote breeders and their livestock. By becoming a member you will receive a quarterly members booklet a year book and breeders directories to help you source these traditional and rare breeds and find like minded people in your area.
The Britannic club has minimal interest in the exhibition scene and instead focuses its efforts on the traditional utility aspects of a breed. Much effort has been made in past years to prevent the extinction of many native breeds by many worthy enthusiasts. However, little passionate effort has been made to truly promote British breeds to the wider public in the manner they should be. This is where Britannic Rare Breeds is beginning to take the lead and will endeavour to continue to.
The member’s booklet aims to provide the kind of valuable, straight forward breed and cultural information that is so often avoided or blurred by publications that play it ‘safe’.
The booklet in itself is a valuable resource containing:
- Practical seasonal advice
- Breed articles
- Farm Park and auction reports
- Member’s articles
- Experimental breeding
- Farming methods of yesteryear
- New discoveries
- Photo galleries
- Breeder directories.
Yearly membership is offered free for the first year with no obligation to continue thereafter. Membership renewal can be made in paper format and breeder directories can be altered or updated at any time.
